Trying the demo
The demo lets you explore a full, working Churchday church filled with sample events, people, and email campaigns. It runs in its own sandbox, so anything you click, edit, or send stays separate from real accounts.
Before you begin
- You need to be signed in to your Churchday account. The demo is only available once you have signed in. If you open the demo while signed out, you are sent to the sign-in page first and then brought straight back to the demo.
Step-by-step
- Open the demo. On the Churchday marketing site, click Try the Demo. If you are already in the dashboard, click Demo Mode in the left sidebar instead. Both take you to the demo setup screen.
- Choose a church size. The setup screen has one choice: Church Size. Pick Small Church (about 50 members), Medium Church (about 200 members), or Large Church (about 500 members). Medium Church is selected for you by default. The size only changes how much sample data you see, so pick whichever feels closest to your church.
- Click Start Demo. Churchday builds your sample church. This takes a few seconds while it loads the sample members, events, registrations, and email campaigns.
- Explore the dashboard. When it finishes, you land in the dashboard as an Admin, with the full menu available. Browse the people directory, open an event, look through email campaigns, and try the volunteer schedule.
Switching size or leaving the demo
While you are in the demo, the Demo Mode button stays in the left sidebar. Click it to open the Demo Mode pop-up window, where you can:
- Switch the church size using the Church size dropdown. The options are Small Church ("Under 100 members"), Medium Church ("100–500 members"), and Large Church ("500+ members"). Choose a different size and click Update to rebuild the demo at that size.
- Leave the demo by clicking Leave demo. Your demo sandbox is deleted and you return to the home page. You stay signed in to your own account.
Good to know
- Nothing you do in the demo affects real data. The sample church is its own sandbox, so feel free to experiment, edit anything, and even send test emails without worry.
- Every demo session runs as an Admin. There is no role switcher, so you always see the full set of features an administrator has.
- The sample data is pre-loaded for you. You get sample events, a directory of people with tags and groups, email campaigns, and volunteer positions and schedules, so every part of the dashboard has something real to look at.
- Switching size starts fresh. When you switch to a different church size, the demo rebuilds with new sample data, so any changes you made at the old size are cleared.
