SMS Terms & Program Details
Last updated: April 9, 2026
Churchday sends text messages to people who opt in to Churchday: event invitations, reminders, schedule notifications, and other essential updates about the church events they attend. This page explains everything you need to know about the Churchday SMS program. For the complete legal detail, see Section 3 of our Privacy Policy and Section 9 of our Terms of Service.
Program name
The program name is Churchday. Every message in the program includes the word “Churchday” in the message body so you know who is sending it. Churchday is operated by Churchday LLC.
Types of messages you may receive
- Event invitations and RSVP requests
- Event reminders (typically 1 week, 1 day, and 2 hours before an event)
- Volunteer schedule notifications and position confirmations
- Updates from your church (announcements, location changes, cancellations)
- Service-related messages (account verification codes, security alerts)
- Replies to messages you send to us or your church
Churchday does not use your phone number for telemarketing and does not send marketing messages about third-party products or services.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies based on your church’s activity and the events you are attending. A typical member receives between 1 and 4 messages per week. You will not receive more than one automated reminder for the same event on the same channel.
Costs
Message and data rates may apply. Churchday does not charge you to receive SMS or MMS messages. Your mobile carrier, however, may apply standard messaging and data rates based on your plan. Contact your carrier for details.
How to opt in
You can join the Churchday SMS program in any of the following ways. Consent is always voluntary, never pre-checked, and never required to use the free features of Churchday.
- On the web: Visit churchday.co/subscribe, enter your mobile number, and tick an unchecked consent box labeled: “Yes, text me reminders and updates from Churchday. Message frequency varies (typically 1–4 per week). Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. I’ve read the Privacy Policy and SMS Terms.” The Subscribe button stays disabled until you check the box.
- At event RSVP: When you register for an event on a Churchday-powered page, you may enter your mobile number and tick an unchecked box labeled: “Text me reminders and updates about this event. Message frequency varies (typically 1–4 per week). Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and SMS Terms.” Leaving the box unchecked never blocks your RSVP.
- In your account settings: If you have a Churchday account, go to Account → Notifications and turn on SMS notifications. The toggle is off by default.
- Resubscribing: If you previously opted out, reply START to any prior Churchday message to opt back in.
