Navigating the dashboard
After you sign in, you land on your dashboard. Everything you need is reachable from the sidebar on the left. This article gives you a quick tour so you always know where things live.
Where you land: the Home tab
Signing in drops you on the Home tab, not on your events. Home is a snapshot of your church right now, and it has a few parts from top to bottom:
- A greeting with your church name, the day, and the time.
- Quick Actions: one-tap shortcuts to the things you do most, like New event, Send email, Add people, and Open church page. You only see the actions your role allows.
- Needs your attention: an action list that appears when there is something waiting on you, such as membership requests, group-join requests, event submissions, or volunteers who declined a serving request. If nothing needs you, this section stays hidden.
- People this week: birthdays and newcomers, with a This week / This month switch so you can widen the view, plus a simple age-and-gender breakdown of your people.
- Setup suggestions: friendly nudges to finish setting up your church (for example, adding people or connecting a custom web address).
The sidebar, top to bottom
The sidebar is how you move around Churchday. As an admin, you see these sections in this order:
- Home: the snapshot screen described above.
- Church: the editor for your public church page (the Linktree-style page members and visitors see).
- Events: create, publish, and manage your events, and see who has registered.
- Schedule: plan volunteer serving schedules and assignments.
- People: your member directory. Browse, search, and manage everyone in your church.
- Email: write and send email to your church.
- Forms: build sign-up and information forms.
- Tap & Scan: set up check-in with tap chips and QR codes.
- Expenses: collect and reimburse expense requests.
Settings and a Help link sit pinned at the bottom, a little apart from the main list, so the tools you configure once are separate from the tools you use every day.
Reading the sidebar labels
A couple of sections carry an extra marker:
- Email shows a small Beta badge because it is still being polished. It can also show a small colored dot when your email sending health needs attention, for example if sending has been paused. If you see the dot, open Email to check the details.
- A Text (SMS) tab is planned but currently hidden, so you will not see it yet. Text messaging is coming soon.
The top of the sidebar: switch, search, and help
- Your church name with a chevron sits near the top. Click it to open the church switcher and jump between churches you belong to.
- Just below the sections is a Search box (or press
Cmd+K). Click it to open a command menu that jumps you to any page or person fast. - The Help link at the bottom opens the help center in a new tab, so you never lose your place in the dashboard.
The bottom of the sidebar: your account
At the very bottom you see your name and role. Click it to open your account menu, where you can go to Account settings, switch to your personal view, or Log out.
Good to know
- What you see in the sidebar depends on your role. Someone granted access to only one section sees just that section, not the full list.
- The dashboard root always opens Home, so you can always get back by clicking Home at the top of the sidebar.
