Run your teams from the Schedule tab

On the redesigned Schedule, the Schedule page has two tabs under its title: Schedule and Teams, with the settings gear in the top right as on every other tab. The Teams tab is where a coordinator looks after the serving teams that the schedule is built from, without going to People.

Before you begin

  • Your church needs to be on the redesigned Schedule. If there are no tabs under the title, your church is on the classic Schedule, and teams live under People.
  • You need access to the Schedule tab. Anyone who can manage the schedule can also create teams, edit them, add roles, and add or remove people, for teams only.

The Teams tab

  1. Open Schedule and click Teams under the title.
  2. You see every team with its icon, name, and how many people serve on it. Use the search box to find one.
  3. Click a team to open its page. Click + to create a new team: give it a name, an icon, and a short description, and you land on its page.

A team's page

The team's page shows its roles and its people:

  • Roles lists each role with how many people hold it. Click Add role to create one. Click a role to see who is in it, add or remove people, and Edit role to rename it or change its icon.
  • Instructions inside a role's popup opens that role's editor, where you set how many people are needed, the arrival time, what to know, and the step-by-step instructions volunteers see. If the role serves more than one event, you pick the event first. A role that is not on any event yet needs to be added to one from the Schedule tab's Manage event roles.
  • People lists everyone on the team with their roles, with the same search and filters as People. Add members adds someone and chooses their roles. The ... menu on a row removes them from the team.
  • The ... menu beside Add members has Edit team and Delete team. A team cannot be deleted while people are scheduled on upcoming dates; remove those assignments first.

From the chart

On the Schedule tab, click a team's name on any chart to open its page. The back arrow brings you back to the same chart, event, and week.

Good to know

  • Same teams as People. Teams, roles, and membership are the same records People shows. A change in one place shows in the other right away.
  • People access is separate. Opening a person's profile from the team page needs People access. Without it, the list still shows names, emails, and roles, and the rows do not open.
  • Reordering teams and roles still happens from the chart's Role column head. See Reorder teams and roles.
