Registering for an event
To register or RSVP for an event on Churchday, you sign in first. There's no password: you get a code by email, or you use your Google account. The first time takes a minute, and after that Churchday already knows who you are.
Before you begin
- You need an email address. If your church already sends you emails, use that address so your church recognizes you.
- You don't need an account yet. Signing in for the first time creates one.
Step-by-step
- Open the event and tap Register. On an RSVP event, tap Going, Maybe, or Can't go. A window opens that says Sign in to register (or Sign in to RSVP).
- Enter your email and tap Continue with email. Or tap Continue with Google below it. Google is optional, and both ways reach the same account as long as the email is the same.
- Type the six-digit code. Open the email from Churchday and type the code into the boxes. The window moves on as soon as the last digit is in.
- Add your name and phone (first time only). Enter your First name, Last name, and Phone number, add a photo if you like, and tap Continue. If you used Google and your account has no phone number yet, Churchday asks for it on a Complete your profile page and then brings you back to the event.
- Confirm. One screen shows your response, a line that reads Signed in as with your name and phone (tap Edit to fix either), and anything the event asks, such as family members, guests, or questions. If you see Email me updates or Text me updates, they start checked; uncheck either if you'd rather not hear from the church that way. Then tap the button: Register, Join waitlist when the date is full, or Save for Maybe and Can't go. On a paid event the button reads Continue and payment comes next.
You're all set! The event page shows your response, and an event you're going to also appears on your home page.
If the code doesn't arrive
- Check spam or junk. The code email sometimes lands there.
- Tap Resend. On the code screen, Resend sends a fresh code. If you asked for more than one, use the code in the newest email.
- Check the address. Change it on the code screen takes you back to fix a typo.
- Switching apps is fine. If you go to your email app and the page reloads when you come back, the window opens on the code screen again. Closing the window with the X starts over.
Sharing an email with someone
Two people who share one email address share one Churchday account, so Churchday treats them as one person. To bring the other person along, add them as a guest (a plus-one) when the event allows guests.
"Is this you?"
You might see a screen that asks Is this you? at one of two points:
- When you add your phone number, if that number already belongs to another Churchday account. Send me a sign-in link there emails that account's address a link to sign in there, which brings you back to this event. If you share the phone with someone in your household, choose No, I'm someone else.
- Before you confirm, if the church already knows someone with your name and phone under a different email. Send me a link there emails that address a link that brings your history at the church together. I don't have that email anymore lets the church know. No, that's not me and Do this later carry on. Whatever you choose, you still confirm the event on the next screen.
Good to know
- RSVP buttons in church emails work without signing in. When your church emails you about an event, its RSVP button opens a page where you can answer.
- Members-only events ask you to sign in before the event page opens.
- Changing your mind later? Open the event from your home page to change or cancel your response.
