Preview what people see when they check in

On a computer, the Check-in tab shows a phone on the right with the page your QR code opens. Use it to check what people see right now, or to try a check-in yourself before Sunday.

Before you begin

  • You need the Check-in tab: an admin, or a volunteer invited to it.
  • The phone appears on wider screens, like a laptop or desktop. On a phone or narrow window it stays hidden.

See what a scan shows right now

  1. Open the Check-in tab. The phone follows the tab you're on: Adults shows the adult check-in page, and Kids shows the kids page.
  2. Leave the menu above the phone on Right now. The phone shows exactly what someone gets if they scan this minute. When nothing is open, that's the No check-in available right now screen with your next services.

The phone keeps up on its own: when a service opens or closes, the preview changes with it.

Walk through a check-in

  1. Pick an example from the menu above the phone.
    • For adults: New visitor, Returning member, Returning with family, or On their own phone (a phone that checked in before and is recognized).
    • For kids: First-time family or Returning family.
  2. Type any phone number in the phone and tap through, just like a guest would. A new visitor sees your check-in questions if you've turned them on.
  3. Click Restart under the phone to start the same example over.

The example uses the service that's open. If nothing is open, it uses your next service as it will look on its day, so you can try it any day of the week.

Good to know

  • Nothing is saved. Examples use pretend people. No one is looked up, no one is checked in, and no texts or emails are sent.
  • The address above the phone is your real link. Click it to open the live page in a new tab.
  • The adult example is the shared-screen flow. Your printed QR opens the same page a check-in iPad uses, so someone recognized is asked to confirm it's them before they're checked in.
