Delete your Facebook and Instagram data
A church can connect its Facebook Page and Instagram account to Churchday so it can post to them. The person who connects signs in with Facebook. This page explains how that person can have the data Churchday received from Facebook and Instagram deleted.
How to ask
- From Facebook. Open Facebook’s Settings, then Apps and websites (or Business integrations). Find Churchday, choose Remove, and ask for your data to be deleted. Facebook tells us, and gives you a confirmation code and a link back to this page.
- From Churchday, to stop us posting. An admin of the church can open Social and choose Disconnect. That deletes the key Facebook gave us for the church at once, so we can no longer post. It does not delete the rest of what is listed below. For that, ask from Facebook or write to us.
- By email. Write to hello@churchday.co from the address on your Churchday account and we will do it for you.
What is deleted
- The key Facebook gave us to post for the church.
- The names and ids of the Facebook Page and Instagram account, and the list of what you allowed.
- Your Facebook id for our app.
- Facebook’s and Instagram’s ids, links, and numbers (how many people saw a post) for the church’s posts.
What is kept
- What the church wrote in Churchday: its posts, words, and pictures. They belong to the church and stay in its account. Posts already on Facebook or Instagram stay there until the church deletes them there.
- Payment records for boosts, which we are required to keep. They hold no Facebook sign-in data.
Checking on a request
Facebook gives you a confirmation code and a link when you ask. The link shows the state of your request and nothing else: no name, no church, no account.
