Show a map of where your church meets

You can add a map near the bottom of your public church page so first-time visitors can see exactly where you meet and tap through for directions. The map has its own address, so it can point somewhere different from the service location in your page header.

Before you begin

  • You need access to the Church page editor.
  • Have the address or venue name you want visitors to see.

Step-by-step

  1. Open the Church editor. In the left sidebar, click Church. This opens the page editor on the Church tab, with a live phone preview of your page on the right.
  2. Scroll to the Map section. It sits near the bottom of the editor and reads "Show a map of where you meet, near the bottom of your page."
  3. Turn on the Show map switch. Flip the Show map switch. If the map does not have an address yet, the Map location pop-up window opens and the switch turns on after you save an exact location.
  4. Search for your address or venue. Start typing under Address or venue, then choose the matching Google suggestion. Choosing a suggestion gives the map an exact pin.
  5. Check the Display name. Churchday fills this with the place name. Change it if you want visitors to see a different venue or ministry name above the street address.
  6. Click Save. The pop-up closes, the Show map switch turns on, and the venue name, full address, and map appear in the phone preview.

What visitors see

On your live public page, the map appears as a Visit us section near the bottom. It shows your display name and full street address, which link to Google Maps for directions, plus a map with a pin dropped on your location.

Good to know

  • The map address is separate from your service location. Changing one does not move the other. This is useful when your service details name a room or gathering, while the map should point to the building entrance.
  • Pick your venue from the search list. A hand-typed address without a map pin cannot be saved. Always choose a Google suggestion under Address or venue.
  • You can change the address later. Click the address row below the Show map switch to reopen Map location.
  • The switch saves automatically. Flip Show map and wait a moment, there is no separate save step for the map.
  • Preview links open separately. Click the venue, address, map pin, or another link in the phone preview to open its destination in a new browser tab without leaving the editor.
